People who get help with mental health tend to get better faster and stay better longer.
Anxiety
It is normal for people to occasionally experience symptoms of anxiety. Indeed, a little anxious excitement can enhance sport performance if managed properly. People with an anxiety disorder tend to have symptoms that are bothersome on a daily basis, that worsen with pressure or stress, and that make it hard to keep up with social relationships and academic and sport responsibilities.
The most common types of anxiety disorders are: Generalized anxiety disorder (“free-floating” anxiety that can seem to occur without a specific cause as well as excessive worry about everyday problems that can affect sport performance, academics, finances, health, and relationships), panic attacks or panic disorder (anxiety and physical symptoms such as a pounding heart or shortness of breath), and obsessive-compulsive disorder (obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors related to anxiety).
People with anxiety typically have difficulty calming themselves, even though they realize that their anxiety is more intense than the situation warrants.
